Your
role

In this role, you will translate technical concepts into smart, hands-on solutions for our production environment, from the first idea through to implementation.

  • You co-lead automation projects from A to Z: from concept and technical specifications to FAT/SAT and commissioning.
  • You review electrical diagrams and ensure machine compliance with Decospan’s requirements.
  • You develop programming yourself (mainly in Siemens TIA Portal) and conduct motor and I/O testing.
  • You keep track of the latest technological evolutions, visit trade fairs, and maintain strong connections with suppliers.
  • You create interfaces between systems and enable intelligent data processing.
  • You prepare instrumentation lists, safety matrices, and electrical diagrams for operational adjustments.
  • You guide technicians during on-site execution.
  • You support the Decospan Maintenance team in solving complex software or electrical issues within our plants.
  • You provide training to colleagues and actively foster knowledge-sharing on automation across the organization.
Your
Profile
  • You have experience in an industrial engineering environment, with strong expertise in automation.
  • You are a conceptual thinker who can translate ideas into practical, working systems.
  • You have solid technical skills in software (especially PLC) and electrical engineering; knowledge of safety systems is a plus. Proficiency in E-plan is a strong asset.
  • You are entrepreneurial, take initiative, and don’t wait until everything is defined in detail.
  • You communicate fluently in Dutch and English, and confidently engage in dialogue with suppliers and internal stakeholders with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • You understand how machines work on the shop floor and look for solutions tailored to your colleagues’ needs.
  • You are willing to travel abroad occasionally in the context of projects.
