Then you might be the ideal Business Intelligence Azure Engineer Ontex is looking for!We are looking for an experienced data engineer to guide us end-to-end through complex analytics projects in Microsoft Azure. You will work on our BI Azure stack which is integrated with the Enterprise BI environment (SAP BW on Hana). In this way, you will have a crucial role in the successful realization of Ontex’ Analytics strategy.The BI Azure Engineer is responsible for designing and creating advanced data analytics. They are the sherpa of the Azure data platform and assist Ontex towards state-of-the-art business intelligence applications (user friendly, qualitative and performant). As well as self-service BI capabilities, enabling them to gain quicker business insights and guide them in making factual based decisions.Main Tasks
  • Act as a true Azure expert
  • Extend our Azure Data platform by designing & building new data architectures. This includes the design of a data lake, integration of SAP BW data and transformations.
  • Apply the Azure best practices in terms of architecture, data quality, performance and security
  • Realize the successful technical implementation, to deliver data driven insights.
  • Assisting the team in deploying data applications and collaborate closely with the azure data analyst.
  • Act as an Azure trendwatcher to explore new insights and opportunities.
  • Participate actively in the day-to-day operations
  • Assist colleagues by thinking in terms of “combining strengths” and “team”
Background and Experience
  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering and/or a technically oriented field
  • Good Business Intelligence and data modeling know-how
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Azure and proper knowledge how to ingest, transform and model data using components like Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse, Time Series, IoT Hub, Stream Analytics,...
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Power BI
  • Good knowledge of SQL, , T-SQL and excellent coding skills (Python)
  • Basic understanding of the Kusto query language
  • Experience with Databricks is a plus
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Analytical mind and a flexible, pro-active and result driven attitude
  • Efficient planning and organizational skills
  • Eager to learn
  • Excellent knowledge of English
