Service Market Logistics (SML) is part of Volvo Group Trucks Operations. We are an organization of approximately 3,700 employees globally in more than 40 locations. Service Market Logistics is responsible for delivering uptime to our customers: this means we need to make sure the right spare part is available on the right location at the right time. We achieve this goal by delivering world class operational excellence for our customers, based on smart logistics solutions. In the Ghent & Europe region, we have Supply Planning teams, the biggest Volvo Distribution Center in the world, several Support Distribution Centers throughout Europe and multiple Service Centers. Our responsibility is to plan the supply chain from suppliers to dealers in order to secure the best possible spare parts availability resulting in the best possible uptime for our customers. The business control department plays an important role in this mission. We are a diverse team with a passion for numbers, continuous improvement, and collaboration. You will be located in Ghent (Oostakker) at the biggest Volvo Distribution Center in the world.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The role of Business Control Analyst consists of 2 pillars. On the one hand, you need to understand the financial processes and look at them with a critical eye and a continuous improvement mindset. Every day, you will look for opportunities to improve. On the other hand, you will drive the digitalization journey in the SML Ghent & EU business control team.



Your main focus will be to:
  • Actively work on optimizing and continuously improving the Business Control & Financial Control processes. To do this, you collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Freight Control, Purchasing, Shipping, FCA, Operations, external parties, …
  • Coach the Financial Control team and support them with ad hoc analyses
  • In case of new freight contracts, you represent the needs of the department (clear pricing structure, invoicing instructions, …)
  • Drive the digitalization journey for the business control team: you explore and implement digital possibilities that can make everyday life easier.
  • Introduce new tools and automations to improve the efficiency of the financial processes. You support the users and provide the necessary training.
  • Participate in digitalization networks
  • Participate in projects as the financial point of contact.
  • Be involved and participate in continuous improvement activities, both within and outside the department.

WHO ARE YOU?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and assertive candidate who enjoys working in a team, has an analytical mindset and is passionate about digitalization and automation. You like to be challenged and you don’t hesitate to reach out in the matrix organization and to work cross borders.
  • Master’s degree or equal by experience
  • Solution-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Digitalization mindset & eager to learn and explore
  • Knowledge of SAP, Power BI, office automation and MI are an asset
  • Experienced user in Microsoft Office
  • Analytical mind who can draw conclusions and can convert these into concrete action plans
  • Financial knowledge
  • Excellent communication & social skills to support changes
  • Enjoy working in a team, both within your own team and cross-functional
  • Fluent in English, other languages are an asset
