Finance Business Partner Consumer

Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced controller to partner with the Consumer Product Business Leaders in managing the financial performance of its dedicated business line(s) at 360°, as well as steering business decision making through controlling, analysis, valorizations & reporting requirements in terms of profitability, tactics and strategy execution.

S/he will be responsible for building short and long-term plans, explaining variances and identifying risks and opportunities for counter-measures, as well as monitoring and challenging the ongoing performance by performing analysis for each product line at the most granular level required.

This role is the key in the Organization and need to quickly develop in-depth business knowledge and expertise by working hand-in-hand with the Business, Finance peers (HQ & Regions), as well as all the relevant supporting functions (Product Development, Logistics & Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Strategic Planning…) to drive profitable business growth.

Responsibilities

Performance Controlling & Analysis
  • Responsible for the in-depth performance controlling & analysis vs benchmark about all the multiple elements of the Profit & Loss (from Net Sales, through OPEX and OP) by product and channel, for all markets and plants in Europe;
  • Analyse in a pertinent / critical way and proactively challenge the business by identifying performance issues, risks / opportunities and propose solutions;
  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analysing causes of unexpected variance and suggest appropriate counter-measures for correction;
  • Support investment decision-making by performing ad-hoc analysis, valorisations and business case studies serving senior decision makers
Performance Management Reporting
  • Responsible for the production and presentation of the management reporting package to the Business Leaders and stakeholders, including the monitoring of KPI’s, qualitative comments, trends and relevant ad-hoc insights;
  • Deliver pertinent insights that reflects the market environment, true performance achievements and priorities by business line (MS, Vol-Px-Mix, COGS, OPEX…)
  • Identify areas where the results deviate from targets, identify root causes & counter-measures with relevant departments heads, communicate adequately and follow-up the implementation of necessary counter-measures;
  • Create and maintain financial models focusing on profitability and variance analysis, developing business cases, KPI’s and investment / ROI summaries.
Planning & Analysis
  • Understand the business macro-economic, environment and industry key trends / outlook, as well as demand evolution assumptions;
  • Support the design, internal organization and coordination of the various planning activities processes (forecasts, budget and mid-term plan), validation gates and milestones amongst all different stakeholders in the Group;
  • Determine and challenge for robust assumptions to drive the various planning models and ensure that mgmt targets are properly translated into each plan;
  • Run P&L simulations, sales mix, profitability and sensitive analysis, isolate areas where deviation or unfavourable impact must be scrutinized or corrected;
  • Interpret and express key business drivers behind the numbers with the objective to identify and quantify risks & opportunities.

  • Contribute with the implementation of new systems, report redesign and process improvements, in collaboration with internal stakeholders;
  • Continuously look for and propose new ideas and potential improvements.
Profile
  • Master degree
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive Finance experience within an international context, with at least 3 years as Business controller / Financial controller
  • Business and commercial minded
  • Pro-Active, pragmatic, creative and future oriented
  • Hands-on, strong analytical and modeling skills, at ease with massive databases, processes & systems
  • Excellent communication skills: being able to build constructive relationships with diverse senior stakeholders, both at headquarter and regional level
  • Ability to integrate and adapt in a complex matrix organization and work hand-in-hand with colleagues cross-functionally
