Our client, located in Ghent Seaport, is a leading chemical company specialised in the development and manufacturing of high end emulsions. Through the use of innovative technology, they are able to introduce sustainable products in several markets as part of the solution to reduce CO2 emissions and plastic waste.

In order to expand their sales activities, they are looking for a :

Business Development Manager

Your role

  • You have bottom line responsibility for the accounts you serve
  • You will research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, customers, …
  • You will develop and nurture relationships with existing customers
  • You are responsible for researching prospective accounts in target markets and will generate leads through active prospection
  • You will relay market requests or feedback to the R&D and manufacturing departments
  • You are open to assist the CEO to grow the company and help to define/implement new procedures and systems such as ERP, ABC costing, …
  • You are looking for a job with (self)-development opportunities (and potentially replace the current CEO in 5 to 10 years)

Your profile

  • You hold a Master’s degree in engineering, preferably supplemented with an MBA
  • You have at least 10 years’ experience as a B2B business development manager
  • You are a self-starter and are able to work independently
  • You have a hands-on mindset and are able to think outside the box
  • You are eager to master the markets served as well as the technologies used
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English
  • You are willing to travel up to 20% of your time
