Do you have a desire to solve difficult problems that are best tackled with data?

Your Mission

In this new position it is your mission is to boost business productivity by supporting the growth of Industrial Air as a data driven organization. You do this by linking operational expertise of business users with technical expertise of data engineers and developers. You safeguard that analytics solve critical business problems.

As Business Intelligence Manager you will be able to work very close with business users and technical experts and create value for every role in our organization, ranging from Marketing to Finance, HR and Operations.

Initially, you build a thorough understanding of the available and relevant data sources, mapping their opportunities and areas for improvement. Next to that you are constantly scouting for new and common use-cases across our organisation, supported by internal teams (business process experts) or external partners (industry leaders, research institutes, …).

You use this domain knowledge to help business users identify and prioritize their business problems, based on which will create the highest value when solved. These may be opportunities within a single line of business (eg increasing visibility of HR Learning data, or harvesting the available C4C data), yet over time most focus will be on cross-functional initiatives (creating insights by linking all relevant business data).

You shape these initiatives and work closely with technical experts who will create models, visuals and solutions. As a project leader you will bring the relevant teams (internal or external) round the table and ensure the requirements are fulfilled in the most efficient way, on time in full. You build in feedback loops with the target users and manage expectations and commitments.

Finally, you ensure that the solution produces insights that the business can interpret and execute on, and ultimately communicate the benefits of these insights to business users to drive adoption.

As a successful candidate you have ….
  • a strong acumen in quantitative analytics and structured problem solving, either through a formal STEM education or self-taught knowledge in a relevant field.
  • process-management skills as a must. You should be able to direct an analytics initiative from ideation through production and adoption and understand the common pitfalls.
  • Knowledge of, or are willing to learn, the basics of Big Data Analysis, IoT, AI or Machine Learning. You will not necessarily build models yourself, though it will be beneficial to understand what is available to have meaningful conversations with technical experts.
  • Excellent knowledge of English.
  • A strong affinity with data, analytics, visualization tools and business processes.
  • Knowledge of an ERP-system as a plus.
