Client Details

Details about the client: Our client is an international company specialised in the manufacturing sector. They are currently looking for a Chief Accountant to strengthen their team in Nivelles.

Description


Your responsabilities - Chief Accountant:

  • Oversee fixed asset functions and ensure proper calculation and accounting of depreciation
  • Prepare standard journal vouchers and monthly distributions in a timely manner to comply with settlement schedules
  • Supervise the general ledger reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Review and file tax returns and act as subject matter expert on all VAT related topics
  • Prepare audit documents, coordinate auditors’ visits and answer all their questions related to accounting entries,
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Responsible for payroll
  • Notify the Human Resources Department of inconsistencies in the working days of Belgian workers
  • Secure relationships with payroll companies and work with them on continuous process improvement
  • Responsible for the maintenance, contact and follow-up of personnel insurance records
  • Ensure that new regulations on BEGAAP or tax are constantly being developed
  • As the point of contact for any questions regarding Belgian accounting principles and payroll related issues
  • Work with the local finance team to lead process improvements within the department

Your profile - Chief Accountant:

  • You hold a degree in Accounting
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a relevant role
  • You have knowledge in USGAAP on top of BEGAAP
  • You speak English and French
