Job Purpose and Impact

The Commodity Logistics Coordinator will assist with supply chain activities required to bring commodity ingredients into contracted warehouses, vendors, to our plants, or directly to customers. In this role, you will be executing on the commodity merchant supply strategy and will complete documentation and systems entry to enable the timely and cost-effective flow of commodities.

Key Accountabilities
  • Perform activities that support transportation and logistics solutions on inbound movement of raw commodity ingredients and finished goods from origin to destination.
  • Execute logistics activities that support the execution of the supply chain, including transportation capacity planning, management of third party warehouses and vendors, container administration and import shipments.
  • Manage the Operational Control Tower for our Logistics Network and support in real-time with transit incidents providing intervention.
  • Assist with routine scheduling, transportation arrangement, stock inventory management and reporting of shipments according to purchase and sales contracts.
  • Execute the logistics and supply chain strategy, resolve basic issues and provide recommendations to support improved and cost-beneficial freight movements. Own the logistics KPIs and Budget.
  • Facilitate shipments against the purchase and sales contracts, execute internal and external purchase orders and invoices and perform data entry updates using enterprise resource planning systems, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Execute specialized transportation and logistics activities around material resource planning for the facilities, claims and incidents, customer service and customer orders contracts.
  • Conduct activities to support the development of relationships to assist with order and shipment changes in making the best buy or sell decisions to minimize costs and maximize profits and services.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in spreadsheet and word processing applications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of how enterprise resource planning systems
  • Commodity logistics knowledge
  • Working knowledge of international commercial terms
  • Knowledge of manufacturing environments or food safety
Prior Beneficial Experiences
  • Knowledge of commodity logistics.
  • Experience or knowledge of international supply and demand processes and activities.
  • Internship or project experience in manufacturing or food science.
