Credit Risk Data Analyst

Your role & work environment
Credit Risk has come to the center stage of banking again during these uncertain economic times. As a Credit Risk Data Analyst at ING, you will play a crucial delivery role in the data-driven culture supporting our internal & external stakeholders.
Being part of the Information Management reporting team, you can make the difference for the bank by helping to steer the portfolio, managing recurrent internal & external reporting activities, or any other ad hoc reporting activity supporting the decisioning process of the Senior Management.
Your key responsibilities
You will create and generate reports on Credit Risk data and activities:
- identification and analysis of reporting requirements
- identification of the data and calculations necessary for this reporting, taking into consideration the different data sources to be used as an input
- creation of a reporting format in agreement with our internal clients
- implementation, automation and execution of reports
You will perform in-depth and insightful analyses:
- performance of the necessary checks, including data quality controls, in order to validate the report
- identification of trends in the underlying data
- provide appropriate insight to Finance department or internal revisors on observed evolutions in the Finrep tables
- understand on how to link these trends to events and activities taking place in the Credit Risk field
- summarisation of all of this into findings and recommendations, and communication of these to the relevant partners
You will work on reporting areas such as:
- Financial Reporting in collaboration with Finance Department
- Loan to Value reporting, which became a key risk driver under the scrutiny of the National Bank of Belgium
- Implementation of corrections on Loan Loss Provisioning in a governed way.
- reporting for Credit Watchlist, Regularisation, Restructuring & Recovery portfolios, including portfolio dynamics
- reporting both in the field of recurrent internal / external reporting as ad-hoc reporting requests

As a Data Analyst you will also need:
- Master’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or alike, and/or equivalent experience of minimum 1 to 3years within credit risk reporting
- at least 2 years’ experience in fields related to loans, experience with products, systems or procedures
- a previous experience in Finrep reporting or any other regulatory reporting is a plus
- a thorough knowledge of reporting software such as SAS Enteprise Guide, SAS Visual Analyics, SQL,
- To be analytical: extremely curious, constantly looking for an explanation; analysing sharply, concise & to the point
- A “Think out of the box” attitude, and do not hesitate to challenge processes in place to gain in efficiency
- To take ownership on tasks assigned
