Data Engineer/Python remote working, English speaking

Skills:

We are looking for candidates who have

Experienced in working with Spark or Flink (ANY ONE OF THESE NOT BOTH)

Experienced in coding with Python

Preferably, familiar with Kafka, Airflow, Kubernetes (ANY ONE OF THESE NOT ALL REQUIRED)

Your role:

As a senior data engineer, you will carry responsibility for architecture and design of new products and features in our Data Platform. You will be working closely with business and product owners within our business units and business consultants. The goal will be to deliver a centralized data platform available to end-users and clients for investments research and information provisioning in general.

The platform which we are building is developed using Apache Spark and runs on Kubernetes on AWS. We have chosen a program approach to efficiently build the data platform with internal and external staffing using an Agile/Scrum approach for delivery.

Your role:

Extend the platform and build data pipelines in PySpark and Kubernetes

Performing analysis and solution design

Monitoring architectural and technical debt and addressing this in backlog formation with the product owners

Working on long-term data architecture questions together with the data architect and enterprise architect

Provide solutions to data-transformation and -consumption questions

Help building an internal data team.

Your team

The data team is part of the Data Centricity program and works closely with the Information Management department (IM). IM services Asset Management assists in delivering functional solutions in IT. Your colleagues are very well experienced professionals in the financial industry with many years of experience in orchestration the processing and reporting of investment processes and products. Staffing is international so we use English as our operating language. The IM data team itself has been recently staffed. In total, we have 30 FTE working on the data transition.

Working for a well established organization, CHANCE TO WORK IN THE BANKING ENVIRONMENT (ie no previous banking experience)

6 - 12 months extendable contract

Flexible start date (ie immediate to 3 months notice)
