YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Generate cost effective and performing productdesigns in support to Application Engineers requirements, and in line with customer specifications and needs, following established application guidelines for cost, design, manufacturing, quality.
• Coordinate the designfrom proposal to concept through to product life. Gain approval from Application Engineers through internal design reviews, and communicate files and documents. Ensure technical files are complete, accurate and up to date: models, drawings, GD&T, significant characteristics,....
• Ensure product designs are in line with manufacturing processesthrough participation to DFMEA and feasibility reviews with POMs to Ensure accurate and updated design data retrieval.
• Propose new mechanisms and conceptswhich support the company objective for IP and preferred fit. Recommend cost or technical improvements in components design which will maintain quality standard and functionality at a favorable cost.
• Generate drawings for adaptors and jigsneeded for product lab testing as well as models and drawings for prototype parts.
• Cooperate with purchasing, vendors and suppliersin agreement with Application Engineering to reach agreement on technical aspects which maximize design for manufacturability and reduce costs and tooling investments.
• Participate to benchmarkingof competitive products, by evaluating and reporting on materials and design details, manufacturing and assembly technologies. Keep abreast of production capabilities as well as new manufacturing technologies.
• Ensure quality and timely delivery of design files,by coordinating, supporting, assisting and guiding designers involved in the projects.
• Follow latest designing tools, including system upgrades, 3 D best practice, Team center file management and general CAD guidelines & procedures.

YOUR PROFILE

• Industrial engineer or equivalent through experience
• Min. 3 years successful experience in design and concept development, and good level technical contacts with suppliers and technical experts.
• Fluent verbal and written English
• Good understanding of mechanics, plastic and die cast parts manufacturing processes, tooling and (new) material properties.
• Experience with Unigraphics/NX Siemens
• Strong in 3D modeling, design, drafting, creativity
• Strong in conceptual thinking, new idea generation
• Good communication skills
