Design Engineer

We are looking for an enthusiastic Design Engineer who has an eye for detail, who thinks about solving problems and who strives to know everything in relation to designing and the production process.

JBT in Sint Niklaas where this position sits, we are in the unique position of being able to offer extensive thermal process expertise regarding virtually all low and high acid foods in nearly every type of sterilizing system and every type of package, by virtue of our position as a recognized thermal process authority. Our Research and Technology Centre in Sint Niklaas assists with Process Validation, Process Development, Container Performance Studies and Training.

• 
  Designing work for projects (customer order or R&D project), being quality of design, timing and cost.
• Making 3D-Models, assembly, and part drawings.
• Providing drawings and information for installation drawings and manuals
• Doing the necessary inputs: OCE, Creo + Windchill, and the JDE business system
• Working together with other JBT or external designers and reports to the project and lead engineer.
• Having an eye for safety and ergonomic design

• 
  Holds a bachelor’s degree (electro-mechanical or equivalent).
• A minimum of 10 to 15 years’ experience in a similar industrial environment is a must
• Knowledge of Excel, 3D cad systems are necessary: Creo + Windchill.
• Experience with business systems is an advantage, knowledge of JDE is a plus
• Dutch and English languages are a minimum requirement
• Works in a structural way, is precise and has good communication skills
• Has a positive attitude and is eager to learn
• Is a team player: working closely with other designers and project engineers
• The designer will report to the lead engineer Preservation or the Project engineers
