Design Manager

The Design Manager’s main responsibility is the leadership of highly trained Digital Product Design Technicians located in Belgium and Ukraine.

He/She will lead interdepartmental initiatives to achieve KPI goals in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, cost and people. You will be a member of the Machining and 3D Printing Supply Chain management team and will collaborate with local site peer managers and their teams.

The 3 products being designed through the technicians are: Atlantis Suprastructures as dental implant restorations and Simplant & MGuide as surgical guides.

Responsibilities
  • Management of the Design teams including and not limited to development, training, evaluate staffing needs etc.
  • Responsible for compliance in safety, QARA compliance, product quality, productivity, on time delivery and continuous improvement (including Lean) through delegation to the respective teams
  • Official communication to local offices made in time and according to official communication standards
  • Manage design processes according to applicable procedures
  • Collaborate closely with peer managers in order to optimize the total performance of all aspects of Operations including seamless communication and transparent decision-making
Education And Qualifications
  • Bachelor and/or Master’s degree, in a science or engineering field preferred but not required depending on experience
  • Several years of proven experience in leading a team located in different geographical zones
  • Experience in working with Dental /Medical professionals, ideally in communicating complex restorative dental concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English
  • Knowledge of ERP system, manufacturing modules and/or workflow modules
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, self-motivated, ability to handle high volume workload and changing priorities
  • Able to embrace new challenges and thrive in a collaborative environment
  • Training and demonstrated proficiency in Lean, 5S and Continues Improvement or similar principles, preferred
