ELY Commissioning Engineer (8a)

Context of Need

John Cockerill has been acting as global OEM in the energy sector for several decades, delivering heat recovery steam generators, industrial boilers and solar receivers for concentrated solar power plant.

In order to support the acceleration of its developments in renewable energy solutions, John Cockerill has grouped all these activities under a specific entity “John Cockerill Renewables”, with its specific and dedicated organization. It has four activities: solar & thermal storage, hydrogen, Integrated Renewables Solutions and EPC.

The hydrogen activities are organized under a subsidiary called “John Cockerill Hydrogen”. This entity takes advantage of:

• Its current position as the worldwide leader in the manufacturing of electrolysers with more than 25 years of experience
• Complete range of integrated solutions for hydrogen production and refueling stations
• Manufacturing capacities in Asia and Europe
• Integrated test laboratory for key components of electrolysers
  

In order to strengthen the development of its worldwide hydrogen activities, John Cockerill is looking for a new ELY Commissioning Engineer for the H2tech Team.

Main tasks

• Take control of the hydrogen production and purification process
• Establish the list of the different applicable hydrogen norms and standards, electrolysers, ATEX, ...
• Selection of the standards to be followed
• Drafting of procedures for the ELY commissioning:
• Workshop test procedures (proofing, leak test, ...)
• Commissioning procedures at the operating site
• Maintenance procedures
• Extension of procedures to standard products developed by John Cockerill
• International travel to be expected
  

Expected results

• Clarification of standards and norms to be followed
• Drafting of the procedures necessary for the start-up of JC ELY and its maintenance
• Apply these procedures to standard products
  

Profile

• Industrial Engineer with experience
• Be comfortable writing technical and notes
• Autonomous profile, able to work from a blank page
• Comfortable with contacts and teamwork
• Leadership required
• Good writing skills
• Very good knowledge of piping
• Knowledge of the standards applied for piping and gasket
• Knowledge in Hydrogen is an asset
• Structured, rigorous, organised management (diligent in follow-up)
• Synthetic
• Fluency in English (French preferred)
