The role:

The IT Architect drives IT strategy realization by overseeing current and future architectures.

They interface directly with the demand management (projects) process providing solution and data architecture support to ensure deliveries are aligned with the IT strategy, IT governance and business transformation goals.

Strategic Architecture Development:

    • Support local IT Strategy delivery.
    • Transform as-is to target architecture.
    • Align technical architecture with VWFS standards and local business needs.
    • Interface and support the demand management process.
Application Portfolio Management (APM) & Lifecycle Management (ALM):

    • Oversee end-to-end application lifecycle.
    • Define strategic planning topics and contribute to roadmaps.
    • Define and maintain a clear view of as-is and to-be architectures.
    • Own Local Software Request Process.
    • Ensure quality documentation of Technical Architecture, components and integrations.
    • Update and align GPPM with PPM.
Data and Solution Architecture:

    • Evaluate solution design, system integration and data flows.
    • Ensure alignment with IT strategy and data governance.
Additional Responsibilities:

    • Local License management.
    • Local IT supplier / vendor management.
    • Support IT department project initiatives.
Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Minim 5 year IT experience as an IT Architect or similar role.
  • Strong technical expertise with a focus on system design, integration, and cloud computing.
  • In-depth knowledge of security and data architecture and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of current and emerging technologies and platforms including networking, databases, API, containers and orchestration.
  • Project management skills with a track record supporting the delivering complex IT solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align IT initiatives with business goals.
  • Current knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies.
