Financial Risk Policy & Process Officer

Your role & work environment
Being part of the Financial Risk Policies & Procedures team you will focus mainly on the automation of credit decisions. In this context, you will use your credit and policy expertise to bring changes to the policy and the automatic decision engine in order to improve our automation rates while being compliance with the group policy, our risk appetite on our local regulations. In order to achieve this you will need to closely collaborate with the SDS team, the different Tribes and the different segements as well as with non-financial risk.
Your key responsibilities
The Financial Risk Policy & Process Officer key responsibility is to analyse the policy, the decision rules in the automatic decision rules and the feedback of stakeholders to look for improvements in the credit policy and automation rates.
- Evaluate current automated decisions, credit policy, feedback gathered from stakeholders and competition to make data-driven proposals to change the policy and or automated decisions engine that fit within the origination process.
- Align and convince stakeholders of the proposals.
- Make functional requirements for the changes and follow-up on the change
- Communicate, train and answer questions of the different stakeholders.
The Financial Risk Policy & Process Officer makes the link between the policy team, the data quality team and the automated decisions engine team
- Ensures that systems are correctly adapted to support the policy process;
- Answer questions from the different teams related to data analysis.
- In cooperation with other colleagues defines the data needed for a performant portfolio monitoring and predictive deep dive..
The Financial Risk Policy & Process Officer acts entry point for his/her specific domain of policies
- Represents his/her domain within review/validation meetings;
- Participates actively to internal workgroups and projects in order to discuss implementation of new regulations
- Documents the risk processes in alignment with the minimum standards of ING Belgium and ensures their consistency;
- Ensures a close follow up of audit recommendations for his/her domain of policies and procedures;
- Follows closely the Group reviews and changes and evaluates their impacts on the existing policies;
- Maintain our policies compliant with the regulations and the Group standards;
We look for a talent

- Being Green belt certified or willing to become Green belt certified;
- Having a Master’s degree in economics, finance, banking or other related domains;
- Working with autonomy and collaboration especially in view of agile and new way of working;
- Fluent in Dutch, French and English, both written and verbally;
- Good writing, editing, communications and organizational;
- Analytical & data driven
- With previous credit experience (in retail, SME or Corporate lending);
- Understanding credit risk management, lending activities, banking industry and regulations developments;
- Stakeholder management and negotiation skills with ability to communicate on complex and technical concepts to a broad public in a simple way;
- Willingness to understand how the automated credit decision engine works
- Conceptual thinking
- Project management skills
