Based in Brussels and reporting directly the Head of Purchasing, Insurance and Legal

POSITION & OBJECTIVES:

• Manage the global insurance team and coordinate the global insurance strategy and network
• Work on renewals of global insurance programmes.
• Risk management and risk prevention: work in coordination with Group Risk Manager on risk mitigation initiatives.
• Manage the global Alternative Risk Transfer and Captive scheme.
• Lead Eurofins Master Insurance Programme across all lines with the assistance of the global broker to evaluate wording policies, adequate limits and appropriateness of retentions / deductibles. Research and recommend the most cost-effective solutions to transfer risk.
• Own and coordinate the local underlying policies of global programmes with the assistance of the global brokers and their own online reporting tools.
• Conduct the insurance due diligence reports performed for acquisitions/investments and assess the potential benefits of transactional policies.
• Provide support to National Service Centres (NSC) with respect to local risk and all insurance-related matters including renewal of local non-underlying policies where required.
• Co-ordinate and participate in meetings with brokers, insurers and other stakeholders.
• Manage ongoing major claims with support of the brokers, experts and external loss adjusters.
• Continuous management of the information (summaries, certificates,) posted on Eurofins’ internal data management system.
• Monitor insurance premiums data.
• Lead a team.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Personal skills:

• Good knowledge of insurance policies and international programmes
• Captive management (is a plus)
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of Excel and database/Business Intelligence tools
• Very accurate, highly reliable and eye for detail
• Ability to work in an autonomous manner in a fast changing organisation and across different cultures
• Strong communication skills in English language: ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both in writing and verbally
• Able to travel

Education:

• Master’s Degree in Law/Economics/Insurance/Risk Management or equivalent

Language skills:

• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Any additional language is advantageous

Previous experience:

• 10 years minimum of experience in insurance (insurers / brokers / insurance risk managers)
