A company active in the banking sector is currently looking to hire a Head of Residential Mortgages for the Belgian Market to join their offices in Brussels. Thanks to your experience in Retail Banking and in Residential Mortgages, you will be the perfect addition to the company and will have an essential role in developing the residential mortgages business.

Your main responsibilities as the new Head of Residential Mortgages will include:

  • Responsible for the coordinating and executing the commercial and operational activities of the bank concerning the development of the position of the bank in the Belgian mortgage market.
  • Within the boundaries set by governing bodies of the bank, responsible for budgets (business volumes, costs and revenues) related to the Belgian mortgage business
  • Responsible for the relationship and contract management of the partnership with the external parties
  • Developing and managing the oversight process on vendors and lender(s) of record from a first line of defence position.
  • Support 2nd (Risk) and 3rd (Audit) lines of defence in performing appropriate periodical and ad hoc reviews.
  • Monitoring the relevant residential mortgage related policies within the bank and initiate timely review.
  • Team people management and development.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree plus 10+ years of progressively responsible and relevant experience in mortgage lending
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong communications skills in English and French or Dutch
  • Be driven, independent, enthusiastic and hands-on with a practical appreciation of the full mortgage process
  • Demonstrate personal integrity, honesty, reliability, respect and commitment
