Our client is a key player in energy infrastructure at international level. Their corporate headquarters are based in the center of Brussels. To support their continuous growth, they are currently looking to strengthen their finance team with a Internal Strategy Advisor.

Your Job:

Job purpose

As part of the ongoing development of our activities abroad, you will be responsible for monitoring the activities of one or more subsidiaries in order to track and optimize their performance.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • You will support the group in improving its efficiency and integrated operation in shareholder management.
  • You will identify opportunities for improvement and potential synergies.
  • You will coordinate and manage the reporting process of key events and periodic results of the subsidiaries to the senior management.
  • To this end you will be responsible for:
    • Assisting management in developing local projects, ranging from process optimisation to the design of a suitable market model.
    • Developing projects for the benefit of local management.
    • Constructively challenge local management’s objectives, results and approach.
    • Linking the local team with the expertise available at group level.
    • Reporting on the subsidiary’s activities.
    • Liaising regularly with the subsidiary’s teams to take the pulse of their activities and proactively eliminate factors that may lead to under-performance.
  • You will prepare the positioning of the members of the Board of Directors representing the company and coordinating it with the positioning of the other shareholders.
  • You will identify opportunities – in the broadest sense of the term, in particular to involve the affiliate(s) in the energy transition – and follow them up after consultation with the management team.
  • You will coordinate or lead projects implemented on several assets as required. These projects may be of more technical or commercial nature.

Your profile:

  • Master’s degree in civil or business engineering or a Master in economics, business administration, or any other relevant field etc. An additional MBA is an asset.
  • Proven experience of at least five years, ideally within a the Energy or Utilities industry.
  • Strong project management, analytical and synthetical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Intrinsic ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with various stakeholders across different levels of the organization
  • A sense of initiative and good organisational skills
  • Eager to continuously learn
  • The ability to integrate easily into a reactive, demanding and changing environment
  • Fluency in Dutch and English are mandatory. German and/or French would be an asset.
