The IT Business Consultant – Planning & Scheduling will partner with members of the business functional group community that serves Sylvamo’s North American regional business. This role exists to marry business functional group opportunities with IT solutions and involves conceptualizing and leading a variety of IT projects that promote IT improvement ideas that contribute to the Operational Excellence aspects of our organization.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Acts as a liaison with the business/process owner and Information Technology to coordinate the delivery of IT solutions and services to our business partners
  • With a specific focus on the Planning & Scheduling processes for the North American region, complete functional/business process analysis, business requirements collection and definition, and participate in the solution design and documentation of IT enabled business processes
  • Act as a SAP Planning & Scheduling Subject Matter Expert to recommend and implement solutions to drive improvements for the functional areas. Evaluate alternative procedural and systematic solutions that meet needs while maintaining business standards
o Provide SME expertise, evaluate current and desired state
o Consult with business users on system capabilities
o Document solution requirements and alternative analysis
o Recommend solutions to meet business requirements and standards

  • Design, Lead, and execute proof of concepts to quickly determine viability of success. Provide expertise and guidance to team members to validate design assumptions
o Define functional requirements
o Test solutions and provide updates regarding viability of solutions
o For viable proof of concepts, facilitate the initiation and rapid implementation of projects or
enhancements to a formal production solution

  • Plan and lead projects and overall designs, providing leadership and consulting to project teams to deliver project results. Track progress, communicate milestones and resolve issues
o Work with business partners to support, identify, gather information, and develop solutions
for existing sustain issues and new business requirements
o Develops functional requirements
o Tests highly integrated business solutions, ensuring quality and effectiveness
o Provides training for users on new IT solutions
o Support go-live and implementation of IT improvements
o Communicates status and surfaces issues as needed

  • Builds relationships with business partners and engages with both business and IT colleagues in the
identification and structuring of solutions to ensure alignment with their requirements

and opportunities

facilitate the attainment of the business supporting functional group
strategies

  • Drives collaborative IT/Business solutions which further enhance our overall operational efficiency
and effectiveness

  • Develops relationships and collaborates with business partners to create value for Sylvamo
customers

  • Seeks out innovative uses of either existing or emerging technologies that can add business value
and enable our business partners to provide superior service to our customers and gain and retain a
competitive advantage in the marketplace

Operational Excellence:
  • Ensure that business partner needs are being met and that assignments are delivered on time by
participating in project/planning meetings and communicating regularly with the team and ppropriate
managers

  • Understand and work within the framework of a variety of project methodologies and the IT
Operating Model

  • Provides leadership and mentoring for continuous quality improvement
  • Maintains the integration and secures integrity of Supply Chain Operating Model design and
enabled benefits

  • Understands the nature of proposed business process changes and helps business partners drive
appropriate change management

Knowledge and Experience:
  • BS or related required, Masters preferred (major in Engineering, Computer Science, Business
Administration)
  • 10 years IT experience
  • 10 Years SAP APO experience (DP, SNP, PPDS, GATP)
  • Strong understanding of Supply Chain process areas and Order to Cash functions
  • Broad and deep business process knowledge of the supply chain Operating Model; able to lead and
contribute to design process and functional deliverables
  • Proficient knowledge of the SAP Supply Chain operating model planning and scheduling
functionality
  • Strong understanding of North American Papers planning and scheduling processes and practices
is required
  • Experience leading medium to large complex projects with a strong understanding and knowledge
of various project management methodologies and use of IT project tools
  • Skilled in process management; can translate output of process assessments into clearly defined
gaps and propose resolutions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong negotiating and conflict management skills
  • Adept in managing through complex methodologies
