In support of our ongoing organic organizational growth, we are looking for an IT Technical support intern to help us in supporting the IT landscape and to help us to achieve our high level strategic & worldwide objective in the years to come.

Role

As member of a global IT organization, your primary role will be to triage and resolve 1st Line Incidents & Service Requests via our Helpdesk ticketing system. In addition to that, you will take on a more strategic role to support, or work as part of, a project team in charge of delivering innovative IT Workplace initiatives that will shape the future on how our employees will interact with their IT devices. You will be actively helping in shaping the future IT landscape for Aluk.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the job are a combination of Day-to-Day operational support and assisting project work to improve and extend the IT architecture.

Daily support

  • Respond to IT Incidents & Service Requests by providing support both face-to-face and remotely with employees from any of our global Business Units.
  • Work together with 3rd party support partners to resolve operational issues when needed.
  • Install, reinstall or repair hardware and software issues on PC’s, laptops, server and network equipment with the help of other Aluk IT teams or external partners/vendors
  • Assist in installing or relocating hardware (and cabling if needed) at end-users offices.
  • Although physically sitting in the Aluk Hamme office you will provide 1st line assistance to the other Aluk sites as well. This can go from resolving issue to providing input on several type of user request.

Project support

  • As member of an international team you will take part or assist in projects delivering new IT solutions to our end-users community
  • To provide end-user guidance and training on new initiatives/changes impacting their IT work environment
  • Share any knowledge with IT colleagues for additional support.
  • Provide suggestions on improvements that benefit ease of use, security & manageability
  • To regularly reference and update our internal IT knowledgebase for future reference.

Profile

  • Degree in IT is preferred
  • To be able to multi-task and efficiently prioritise your workload.
  • To be confident in following any internal processes & procedures.
  • Background of working in IT Support with a broad knowledge and experience of End-User devices, Application Support and some awareness of Infrastructure Support.
  • Languages: Fluent in English & Dutch (French is to be considered a plus)

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills,

  • Ability to work independently
  • Ideally : a first experience in supporting an organization similar in size to Aluk

  • Experience of supporting:

  • Windows domain migration projects
  • Experience of using/configuring:
  • PowerShell
  • Remote assistance tools
  • Group Policy
  • Mobile Device Management solutions
  • End-user device Imaging solutions
  • End-user device Encryption solutions
  • Anti-virus & security solutions
