This position is a Freelance only position with an initial contract of 12 months + extension.

Our client operates on a Hybrid working model.

Our client is on the forefront of expanding their M365 environment, revolutionizing communication, collaboration, and the digital workplace. They are currently seeking a talented Lead MS Exchange Engineer to play a crucial role in shaping the future of their M365 platform.

Location:

The offices are situated inZwijnaarde, Halle, or Haasrode, with the flexibility of working from home for most days after initial onboarding. The client believes in work-life balance and expects at least 2 days of on-site presence for team collaboration.

Role Description:

As the Lead MS Exchange Engineer, the successful candidate will be instrumental in setting up and operating Teams, Exchange, and the M365 platform for the entire group. Working closely with a multi-project team, the Lead MS Exchange Engineer will lead the design of the transition architecture and migration plan for moving from the current Mail & Calendar platform to Exchange Online.

The technical expertise of the Lead MS Exchange Engineer will be essential in achieving a seamless migration and ensuring a high-performing mail environment for over +20,000 users in Belgium, Luxembourg, France, and India.

Key Responsibilities:

???? Getting up to speed with the client’s current mailflow environment (Forcepoint, Postfix, etc.) & linked systems.

???? Assisting the Solution IT Architect in developing the transition architecture & migration plan for Exchange Online (leading the Exchange efforts).

???? Leading the low-level design and migration plan, with support from the infrastructure team.

???? Setting up the new transition architecture in the client’s test and system environments, validating, and iteratively refining the plan of action.

???? Becoming the lead engineer for both the client’s existing on-premises Exchange and Exchange Online and Teams, benefiting from knowledge transfer and support from the current infrastructure team.

In addition to the above, the Lead MS Exchange Engineer will take charge of scripting and automation tasks to streamline the client’s operations effectively.

Requirements:

✔️ Proven experience with PowerShell scripting for automation, reporting, licensing, etc.

✔️ Expertise in adjusting and enhancing existing PowerShell scripts to align with the new architecture.

✔️ Proficiency in setting up transition architecture and scripts in production.

✔️ Ability to develop new scripts and automations to optimize various IT processes.

✔️ Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering top-notch support during and after migration.

Languages:

• Dutch C1 or higher (Mandatory)
• English C1 or higher (Mandatory)
