DEPARTMENT
SABIC Genk is a world-class compounding facility located in Genk, Belgium. At the site, Polypropylene Compounds and STAMAX are produced at 5 lines and new grades are developed in the Compounding Innovation Center. As manager Technical & Continuous improvement, you are part of the Management Team of Site Genk and responsible for continuous development of our assets and its product portfolio. In strong collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, Logistics, T&I, Business and SCM, you will be in the heart of the growth of our site.
JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Joint responsibility for overall performance of the site as a member of the MT Site Genk
- Leading a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and developing them in their knowledge and performance according to corporate standards and requirements
- Refining of reliable and safe window of operation within the legal / regulatory and corporate requirements (e.g. EHSS, sustainability)
- Development and implementation of asset management strategies (short- and long-term) to fulfil internal and external Business requirements, legal / regulatory requirements, performance / condition targets derived from company vision, mission or strategy and asset life plans. The performance requirements set the standard for safe and reliable operation against optimum cost contributing to producing product at the right quality, on time and fulfilling life span regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Development of the overall CAPEX investment plan for Site Genk.
- Review and analysing asset performance (via e.g. RCA) to provide the feedback loop necessary for continuous improvement (i.e. loss accounting, performance killers, repeated failure)
- Development and implementation of continuous improvement based on or safety risk assessment matrix.
- Responsible to fulfil all legal / process safety (PVA, HAZOP, RIE, MOC, ATEX) requirements in relation to process and technical engineering.
- Responsible for quality management systems ISO9001 and IATF 16949
- Responsibility as primary asset contact for T&I, AMP and E&PM
- Responsible member of the related Value team.
- Responsible for development of a continuous improvement culture (e.g. via best practises, lean etc). Ensure the effective use and its improvement of manufacturing work processes. Leading cross-site projects to improve the efficiency. Organize the contribution in corporate driven initiatives.
- Responsible for leading the Compounding Innovation Center.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Preferably Master degree in Chemical Engineering (for production assets)
- Managerial Training on subjects as Leadership, Coaching and Communication
- 10 to 15 year experience in Petrochemical Industry, preferably in the field of Manufacturing
- Experience with HAZOP, TRIPOD/RCA
- Project management experience
- Familiar with SHE regulations, Law and Legislation
- Knowledge (basic) of Engineering rules
- Experience in Manufacturing Excellence work processes
- Excellent communication and coaching skills
- Competencies; Strategical thinking, People management skills, Decision making abilities, Planning and organizational skills, Focus on Success and Strong verbal communication skills
