The team youll be part of

is calledFixed Networks Central NPI, which is part of Customer Engineering team in the Network Infrastructure (NI) Europe Regional Business Center (RBC).

The FN Central NPI team is looking fora junior NPI Engineerto join our dynamic team based in either Antwerp or Madrid. We challenge ourselves to create an inclusive way of working where we are open to new ideas, empowered to take risks and fearless to bring our authentic selves to work.

We serve two Regional Business Centers: Europe & Middle East & Africa (MEA).

You will be working with various products and solutions in our FN central NPI lab. We will offer you a tailored development and training program, including a step by step building up of expertise, assisted by one or more fellow team member (hands on).

What you will learn and contribute to
  • Your prime mission will be to develop and supply best in class NPI engineering expertise:
  • Your initial focus will be to study, get trained on, and grow to become an expert on SDAN & Cloud Solutions (Altiplano, Lightspan, Deployment in public & private Cloud networks).
  • Next step is to expand to other parts of the Fixed Networks portfolio (Products, Solutions, Services).
  • In addition you will be working closely together with Technical Project Managers which will act as your prime interface in your projects, and with Solution Architects for projects requiring solution design and architecture services.
  • You will be executing or supporting customer engineering projects - preparing for and executing Customer Demos, Proof of Concepts, Lab Trials and Field Trials for New Technologies (both customer facing and back-end). Concrete activity will consist of Test Planning, Test Case Definition, Test Setup, Test execution, reporting and working on quality issues (NPI tickets) till resolution, interfacing with customer technical staff and R&D technical staff for FN technical aspects, team up with FN RBC Pre-Sales & Business Development & Program Managers, work in collaboration with other RBC Customer Engineering Staff.
  • You will take part in or lead NPI & Customer Engineering Readiness plans (skill & working environment developments) – both for you personally, your team members and the RBC Customer Engineering community.
  • You will develop, maintain, apply and share a technical contact network within the RBC, other RBCs, with the FN Business Units R&D teams, and with other Business Line BUs (for end2end multi-BG solutions)
  • You will take part in executing a set of NPI services for the RBC like NPI Ticket Support, technical Q&A support for Partners, contribute to RBC playbook programs.
Your Skills And Experience

You have:
  • a Bachelors or Master degree, preferably in ICT with a great interest in Cloud, Telecommunications and IT technologies
  • you are eager to learn & develop yourself and others, you like flexibility, a dynamic work environment, working on various domains, working with different teams and in different roles
  • you like to volunteer to take up new challenges
  • you dare to make mistakes and learn from them
It would be nice if you also had:
  • a huge interest in and maybe even some experience in Cloud Solutions & Network Services
  • Architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions
  • Kubernetes / Kubernetes Clusters
  • Usage of Containers, VMs
  • Knowledge of MS Azure, Amazon AWS, Google GKE, Google Anthos
  • Cloud scripting
  • Network storage solutions
  • A solid background in Linux/Unix server system administration
  • Knowledge of web services, API, REST, and RPC
  • Experience with Linux Shell Scripting, ansible or Python scripting
  • Experience in Configuration and managing databases such as MySQL
  • experience in some of the below domains
