Optimization Analyst

• You will be involved in challenging advanced analytics projects for leading Energy Players in which you will be developing use cases, from prototypes to operations, in different domains such as asset management, system operations or electricity markets; Examples of such projects would be the development of prototypes around electricity markets optimisation algorithms, or the improvement of outage planning algorithms.
• You will work, as an analytics translator, in close collaboration with our clients, which means that you need to translate the advanced analytics approach in business-oriented words, understanding client needs and identifying main improvement levers; You also need to be capable to develop prototypes and/or leverage existing N-SIDE software solutions to address the client needs.
• You will build up knowledge in the domains you are working in and contribute to the ideation process and identification of new relevant use cases
• You will join a team of experienced colleagues at N-SIDE with whom you will collaborate intensively on a day-to-day basis;

About you

• Master in Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Optimization, or Engineering background with a focus on optimization techniques;
• You have 0 - 2 years of experience, young graduates are welcome;
• You master a range of optimization techniques (e.g. LP, MILP, heuristics, CP) from which you are able to select and utilise the most suitable for a given business problem
• Strong algorithmic skills required, and programming skills (e.g. Python, Julia, Java) is a strong plus; Willingness to learn is required.
• Knowledge in ML is an asset;
• Strong Interest in the Energy sector, in particular electricity markets and power systems; Any previous academic/internship experience is an asset.
• You are client-focus: you have good communication skills and ability to explain clearly objectives, problems and results;
• You are curious, team player, proactive;
• You have an innovation mindset;
• You are results-oriented:
• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• You have self leadership: you are a real team player, creative, with a sense of responsibility and initiative; Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.
