Responsibilities

To support the design of solutions and monitor the operation of the team under his/her responsibility in order to ensure the management, continuous development and improvement of the area concerned, as well as the satisfaction of internal and external customers.

RESULT AREAS

  • To comply with the IT strategy for projects and maintenance in his/her area of activity.
  • Support the Highway Manager in drawing up the budget for the assigned area.
  • Monitor the approved budget for projects and maintenance.
  • Advising the business in defining its requirements and helping it to formulate its request concerning the applications in charge, thanks to its expertise and experience in the field concerned.
  • Participating in the identification of optimal solutions that meet the needs of the business and its constraints (timing, budget, etc.), in particular by activating the network of external partners.
  • Being responsible for functional and technical analysis.
  • Participating in team estimates and requirements (capacity and budget) to successfully complete the proposed requests and projects.
  • Participating in the drafting of requests for proposals when applications are made.

Project involvement :

Planning and monitoring the progress of projects and their maintenance in order to achieve predefined objectives.

Coordinate the various phases of the projects entrusted to him/her (start-up, design, testing, implementation, evaluation, transfer of the project to the business, etc.).

Reporting difficulties encountered (lack of resources, blockages, overlaps, collaboration difficulties, technical/IT problems, etc.) as well as deviations in scope, costs and timing to his/her management, while proposing solutions, and ensuring optimum communication with his/her hierarchy, the parties involved (internally and externally) and the relevant bodies (e.g. IT Boards) in the various projects and requests.

Ensuring that project and maintenance documentation is kept up to date and ensuring the transition after roll-out and implementation (hand over).

  • Ensuring that new tools, procedures and software are accepted by users.
  • Ensuring that the Highway Manager is aware of all business requirements and that these are prioritised by the Product Owner.
  • Acting as a technical and functional expert in the assigned IT area, studying market trends and developments and solving complex problems in order to make optimum use of the knowledge acquired.
  • Analysing and advising on critical issues, problems and incidents, as well as coordinating technical solutions to ensure that the department and the IT solutions developed function optimally.
  • Promoting and documenting the simplification and improvement of complex processes related to his/her field.
  • Providing last-level helpdesk support (analysing functional problems, implementing lasting solutions and, where necessary, collecting change requests via this channel).
  • Monitoring contacts with suppliers, evaluating services delivered and contributing to the selection of new suppliers in order to guarantee service quality and continuity.
  • Analysing and challenging the quotes/estimates produced by our external service providers.
  • Checking and challenging the quality of the work.
  • Managing and coordinating teams of in-house staff (where applicable) and external service providers.
  • Participating in the selection of internal and external collaborators (e.g. project team).

Profile

  • Master’s degree or equivalent through experience
  • Extensive professional experience (min 3 years)
  • In-depth knowledge of specific applications - ability to learn and master new applications and technologies quickly
  • Knowledge of project management
  • Knowledge of the organisation’s internal structure, (work) procedures and operational flows
  • Solution-oriented, good analytical, critical and logical thinking skills
  • Good team spirit
  • good communication skills, assertive, assertive
  • Very good knowledge of French and Dutch (spoken and written) and good knowledge of English (spoken and written)
