Discover the opportunity as a Production and Environment Quality Control Manager at Höganäs Belgium. Within our dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to model and guide the quality control activities, contributing to our operational excellence.
About the position
In this role, you will report to the Quality Control, Environment and Sustainability Manager and you will have different responsibilities:
- You define and implement the optimal control plan of the site in cooperation with the relevant managers and according to current regulations and customers’ requirements and specifications.
- You ensure that the best available analytical tools, techniques and procedures are properly identified, implemented.
- You develop the laboratory capabilities in order to reach internationally recognized standards level.
- You organize the laboratory to ensure compliance and maximize both efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- You manage a small team of lab technicians who are testing, measuring and tabulating data relating product quality and you supervise them in carrying out checks and tests.
- You maintain and set up documentation and control procedures.
- You network with other Höganäs facilities around the world to continuously benchmark and improve our QC performances.
- You monitor performance by collecting relevant information and preparing statistical reports.
- You determine relevant training requirements and deliver training in order to develop your team and the laboratory.
- You suggest investments in terms of new analytical equipment’s in both lab and operations and prepare all documentation related to it.
- You assist in customer complaints handling.
- You assist in PPAP for automotive customers.
- You support the setting of company product specification.

An awareness and sensitivity to environmental issues are crucial aspects we value. The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills, coupled with an ability to think innovatively, and implement pragmatic solutions ’outside the box.’ Adaptability to change, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with effective coordination and decision-making abilities, are essential. We appreciate if the candidate can seamlessly transition between teamwork and independent work, approaching tasks proactively with a positive attitude. Furthermore, the ability to motivate others is a key attribute we are looking for. In this context, we are looking for a person who:
- has a Master degree, preferably analytical chemistry, or material science with a keen interest in analytical chemistry.
- has experience in working within QC in an industrial company (chemical, metallurgical)
- has strong skills in leadership and people management
- is fluent in both written and spoken French and English
- is familiar with Microsoft Office
- will appreciate a challenging position where skills in terms of organization, flexibility and problem-solving will be appreciated.
