Department Info

The Terumo Europe Purchasing & Procurement department, operating from Belgium (Leuven), provides support to all departments, plants, branches and business units across the EMEA region for the purchase of products and services from third party suppliers. The department consists of three teams: Source-to-Contract (S2C), Procure-to-Pay (P2C) and Supplier Development.

Job Summary

As a Purchasing Officer, you will contribute to ensuring the effective and efficient continuation of the entire Terumo Europe infrastructure. You will contribute to the entire purchasing process, involving the necessary preparation, placement and follow-up of the purchase orders. You will be responsible for the Procure-to-Pay activities. Therefore, you will we working closely with our suppliers, your team members and our internal departments. You will report directly to the Purchase & Procurement Manager.

Job Responsibilities

As our Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for the efficient execution of our purchasing processes concerning the Procure-to-Pay activities for the appointed department(s). Therefore, you will directly support the Technical Maintenance department.

By fulfilling your role, you will manage open purchase requisitions (PR). You will send out tenders (RFQ) to potential suppliers and evaluate the presented offers. In addition, you will complete and maintain the relevant price lists (PIR).

You will be responsible for selecting the suppliers after a thorough review. Additionally, you will create and send out purchasing orders (PO). You will also follow up on each order confirmation (OC) and ensure its correctly processing.

It will be your responsibility to expedite the deliveries. When it is required you will function as back-up for the receiving of the good.

Throughout the entire process, you will ensure the correctly and timely reporting of the status and backlog, concerning the PR, RFQ, PO and OC.

You will manage the blocked invoices. Therefore, you will perform the necessary analysis to determine the cause. Additionally, you will resolve and reconcile with Accounts Payable if needed. Furthermore, you will ensure the correct reporting of blocked invoices in the backlog.

As a part of the Purchasing & Procurement team, you will provide support where needed. In addition, you will take up new responsibilities based on new opportunities that might present themselves in the future.

Profile Description

You are enthusiastic and driven about complementing our highly qualified Purchasing & Procurement team.

You have obtained a bachelor’s degree, preferably related to purchasing & procurement. An equivalent through experience within a similar role will also qualify.

You are knowledgeable concerning purchasing concepts. In addition, you have a technical affinity, which allows you to work well with a Technical Maintenance department.

You possess a broad knowledge MS office. An excellent working knowledge of MS Excel is a must. Additional knowledge of SAP-functionalities will be an asset.

You posses strong analytical skills, as well as strategic insight. In addition, you possess strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills. You can communicate well with each audience, both internally and externally.

You are a self-driver and serious about your own development and performance. Additionally, you are an excellent negotiator, a creative thinker and a problem solver. You also have a high regard for attention to detail, as well as quality. Your attitude is hands-on, proactive and result-oriented.

You are fluent in English and Dutch. This entails both verbal and writing skills. In addition, you are a team player, but you are also able to work autonomously. You feel comfortable within an environment where priorities can change.
