Quality Control Engineer

Mission:

The mission is focused on the following four main domains:

• Supplier quality assurance / quality control of the supply chain via the Supply Chain Management process (SCM)
• Quality control in production incl. outsourced production
• Quality control of end-products including the consideration of field issues
• Support of supplier quality engineering during the design and development of new products via the Product Development Process (PDP)

Responsibilities:

• -> Supplier quality assurance / quality control of the supply chain

• Review of specifications to external suppliers including the writing of Quality Data Sheets (QDS) specifying the quality requirements
• Participation to supplier’s evaluation, selection and development by planning and performing supplier audits
• Follow-up of supplier’s quality and set up of corrective/preventive actions for supplier quality development
• Incoming goods control and quality checks with communication to suppliers to resolve quality issues in cooperation with purchasing
• Validation and approval of products and components from resourcing to new suppliers in cooperation with purchasing and R&D
• Definition and set-up of product quality control tasks, internal and at supplier in cooperation with purchasing and R&D

• -> Quality control in production incl. outsourced production

• Development of quality control plans, test instructions and test equipment specifications in production (internal-external)
• Driving continuous improvement via execution of product line audits, follow-up of corrective actions and communication with stakeholders
• Contact in production facilities for product quality related problems

• -> Quality control of end-products incl. the consideration of the field issues

• Definition of outgoing product quality checks at the internal product facilities
• Performance of in- a/o off-line (lab) sample testing of finished products and parts
• Continuous product improvement process by translating internal or external product quality feedback (complaints) into improvement actions
• Quality related corrective actions in production
• Supporting field issues root cause analysis and quality related corrective actions in production
• Leading cross-functional investigations and solution finding with in- and external partners

• -> Supplier quality engineering during the Product Development Process (PDP)

• Verification and release of PPAP documentation
• Execution and follow-up of development quality gate checklist items
• Moderate and guide the execution of P-FMEA’s.

Qualifications:

• Min Bachelor degreein an Electro-mechanics or Electronics related field;
• Min 3 years of practical experience in a Quality Control engineering / industrialization or similar production environment with a mix of electrical/electronic, optical and mechanical products;
• Proven experience in an international, multicultural environment;
• Fluent English proficiency;
• Any additional languages, most importantly Dutch and French, are a plus.

Skills:

• Knowledge in problem-solving methodologies and quality control methodologies: 6 Sigma, QC control techniques, 8D problem solving,.... ;
• Knowledge of production processes;
• Experience in negotiating technical matters with suppliers;
• Mechanical, electrical and/or electronic know-how;
• Internal auditor and ISO 9001 know-how;
• Knowledge of MS Office;
• Knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA;
• Knowledge of Confluence or other wiki solutions;
• Knowledge of Jira.

Are considered as plus:

• Professional knowledge of products and systems used in aviation or airport industry;
• Professional knowledge of relevant international and national standards (FAA, ICAO, etc.) and CE Directives//IEC standards.
