RDS Infrastructure Engineer


  • Working Location:Mons, Belgium
  • Security Clearance:NATO Cosmic Top Secret / DV
  • Language:High proficiency level in English language


EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:


Essential Qualifications/Experience:

· 3+ years of proven experience in the management of Core Services of a large Enterprise or Organization
· Experience of Windows Administration with relevant certifications; e.g. MCSA/MCSE
· 3+ year experience in building, administrating, monitoring and troubleshooting large Windows RDS environments
· Experience with RDS Monitoring and reporting tools like Syskit or RDPManager
· Excellent knowledge of the entire Microsoft Operating system product line administration: Windows server 2012R2, 2016, Windows 10., Exchange server 2013/2016
· Excellent knowledge in managing DNS Domains and DNS Resolution on Windows 2008/2012 R2 and Windows 2016.
· Excellent knowledge of implementing and administering large Active Directory (AD) environments
· Good knowledge in VDI technology
· Good knowledge of maintaining virtualize environments based on VMWare vSphere technology
· Experience in troubleshooting client OS and client software problems
· Experience in Deployable CIS, core services level 3 support


Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience in other application provisioning technologies like Citrix or App-V
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Deployment Kit (MDT Kit)
  • Working knowledge on VEEAM Backup and replication
  • Good knowledge of managing and configuring the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator 5.1.3 and above
  • Experience in data storage technologies, like vSAN, iSCSI and small SANs (HP MSA)
  • Solid appreciation of server, storage and networking hardware
  • Good familiarization with HP Blade Server Products and HP rack based servers
  • In-depth knowledge on network protocols and network management technology


DUTIES/ROLE

  • Manage Windows Software Update Services
  • Manage, maintain and troubleshoot VMWare ESX, other vSphere products
  • Provide Level 3 support for the Core Services in the assigned DCIS
  • Support the Deployable IT Infrastructure
  • Under the guidance and coordination with the service owners will maintain the Core Enterprise Services that include: Active Directory, Domain Trusts, Exchange Servers, DNS Management, Group Policy Management, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator for Endpoint Protection and software update services
  • Support a number of Remote Desktop Gateway Services and perform RemoteApp provisioning and troubleshooting
  • Support the efforts of New CES Baseline Automated Deployment aiming at minimizing the time required of provisioning new Deployable Kits
  • Support the documentation of the new Baseline Deployment Process and support the preparation of the "As Built Guides" and or documentation for the DCIS to be delivered to the NATO CIS Group
  • Liaise with the Agency’s Centralised Service Desk for incident, problem and change management
  • Assist with the planning, coordination and implementation of other smaller infrastructure engineering projects or tasks as directed
  • Book hours spent on this task in electronic timesheets provided by the NCI Agency
  • Submit for validation a timesheet recording the number of hours spent each month to the Service Manager within three business days after the end of the calendar month
  • Submit the timesheet with the SM’s validation signature as an attachment to the invoice for that month
  • May need to travel in order to perform the duties
