Job Description

PepsiCo Benelux is looking for an enthusiastic intern who will join the Regulatory Affairs Team in Zaventem or Maarssen starting from the 31st of January until the 5th of August 2022! Curious about how a big company as PepsiCo is implementing the Nutriscore? Keep on reading!

PepsiCo supports consumer’s expectation with clear and transparent information on food product. Before nutrition labelling has become mandatory, PepsiCo already indicated the nutritional information per 100 g/ml and per portion on all its products. It was among the first companies to repeat nutrition labelling on the front of its packaging. PepsiCo is in favor of the deployment of NutriScore, and supports a harmonized system at EU level.

What will you learn throughout your internship?

In this role you will be learning how to support the Regulatory Affairs manager in implementing Nutriscore on PepsiCo products in the Benelux. As Regulatory Affairs intern, you will manage the Nutriscore implementation process by identifying the different brands and products according to PepsiCo strategy where it needs to be first present, you will provide the relevant requested information to the different authorities, and you will follow-up with the different stakeholders. You will act as the Nutriscore Benelux point of contact to answer any questions regarding Nutriscore. The Belgian regulatory Affair manager will provide you guidance and will support you in your day-to-day tasks. In addition, you will support the Regulatory Affairs Benelux team in any regulatory related project, ensuring compliance with food regulation.

Your Tasks Will Include
  • 1/1 updates with your manager, but also with the Benelux RA team and the Nutriscore core team
  • You will manage the implementation of the Nutriscore from the start with the registration process until the end with the Nutriscore briefing to Marketing.
  • You will help provide the right Regulatory Affairs information for any project
  • You will check communication and packaging according to PepsiCo standards, EU and Benelux food regulation.
  • You will support the Benelux Regulatory Affairs Team in their day-to-day work.
Who are we looking for?
  • A bachelor or master’s student with food science background, ideally with some nutrition knowledge.
  • Someone with basic knowledge of EU food regulations, particularly areas relating to product design, labelling and claims.
  • Hands on mentality to help the Benelux regulatory team in the day-to-day work.
  • Someone with strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail and who is very well structured.
  • A team player, but also someone that likes to take initiative pro-actively and is able to work independently.
  • Someone with the ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects.
  • Someone focused on results, with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
  • Preferably somebody with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Somebody who is fluent in Dutch, English and French is really appreciated (in both speaking and writing).
