Senior Accountant

A company active in the chemicals sector is currently looking to hire a Senior Accountant to join their offices in Brussels.

Thanks to your experience in accounting and VAT, you will be the perfect addition to the company and will prepare and publish each month the financial reporting for the European countries of the group.

Your main responsibilities as the new Senior Accountant will include:

• Oversee the closing process in SAP and manual corrections in the Reporting tool
• Ensure the correctness of financial results in SAP and adjust if necessary
• Responsible to post all IFRS 16 leasing posting
• Submit the monthly reporting according to IFRS rules
• Check the VAT flows for stock movement and VAT flows for purchasing of raw material export and EU purchase
• Oversee the intercompany matching every month
• Be in charge of the final audit process (analytical review of the balance sheet and the profit and loss accounts with our external partners)
• Send information to the HQ for statutory purpose and consolidation

Your profile:

• You have a Bachelor or Master degree in finance or accounting
• You have 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in an accounting role ideally with a strong VAT part.
• Experience with IFRS as well as a good VAT expertise are required.
• You are fluent in French and English

Your strengths:

• You are ambitious and a team player, you have excellent communication skills
• You manage your time efficiently and you are deadline oriented
• Through your previous experience you have built a knowledge of IFRS and you are able to work in SAP as a well as in Excel
