The European Liberal Forum asbl (ELF), the political foundation of the ALDE Party, is recruiting a fulltime Communication Manager / Head of Communication to join its secretariat in Brussels.


ELF is the political foundation of the ALDE Party. Together with 47 member organisations, it works all over Europe to bring new liberal ideas into the political debate, to provide a platform for discussion and to enable citizens to make their voices heard. Through its activities, it promotes a free, open and future-oriented liberal Europe.


Responsibilities

  • Manage the communications team;
  • Develop a concise PR strategy on an organisational level and for products on a member level;
  • Ensure PR strategy is aligned with programmes of the organisation;
  • Planning for traditional and social media;
  • Brand development;
  • Develop proactive campaigns in support of ELF’s products;
  • Develop messaging and speaking points for external communications opportunities;
  • Build excellent relationships with the public affairs community;
  • Create and maintain both reactive and proactive communication materials
  • Write press releases, op-eds, and other materials;
  • Monitoring, retrieving and processing media coverage of ELF in Europe.
  • Coordinate outreach events;
  • Donor engagement and further development of and fundraising opportunities;
  • Monitor internal KPIs for outreach and impact, reporting to the Executive Director and providing documents for board meetings and general assemblies;
  • Writing the ELF Annual Report.
  • Advanced degree in Communication, Journalism, or equivalent;
  • Professional experience in communication of at least 4 years;
  • Experience in the creation of content for and maintenance of websites and social networks;
  • Fluent English. Knowledge of French and/or German an asset;
  • Experience in the European media and/or PR environment;
  • Able to multitask and prioritize the workload of the communications team;
  • Able to communicate effectively with internal stakeholder teams and efficiently manage and solve any challenges that arise;
  • Affinity for liberal ideas;
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
