A leading logistics company based in the Flemish Brabant region, is seeking to hire a Senior Financial Controller to implement plans and processes for financial planning, analysis and management.

Main responsibilities as Senior Financial Controller:

  • Support to Finance Manager and be able to take over all the activities when out of office
  • Perform month-end closing activities according to month-end schedule
  • Analysis of month-end results and management reporting
  • Preparation and submission of monthly financial reports for Management
  • Guide business managers to better interpret financial information and draw conclusions
  • Ensure that all financial data is in compliance with corporate accounting policies and IFRS
  • Participate in system/process improvement and standardization initiatives
  • Participate in review and improvement in existing processes
  • Participate day-to-day finance controlling operations
  • Investigation of queries and abnormalities
  • Control Entities / Cost Center structure / Approval Matrixes
  • Co-ordinate forecasting and planning processes
  • Support business owners in preparation and analysis of business cases
  • Preparation of system/interface reconciliations in terms of all possible categories (accounts/cost centers)
  • Preparation/processing of judgmental accruals and provisions
  • Financial transparency in line with IFRS and companies policy
  • Support Finance Manager in the different audits
  • Ensure positive relationship with the business partners
  • Understand customer and key stakeholders interests and concerns and advise direct reports, customers and key stakeholders
  • Provide technical guidance to line managers and employees

The perfect candidate as Senior Financial Controller:

  • Master degree in finance or economics
  • You have effective planning and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Can do mentality with the ability to work with tight deadlines
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Good knowledge of Ms office, controlling and IFRS principles
  • Good understanding of internal controls or systems
  • Strong business acumen
  • An outstanding communicator in English and any other language is an asset
  • Traveling (less than 25%) is required and is no issue for you
