Senior Manager / Director CFO Consulting with IFRS 17 expertise

EY CFO consulting is assisting banking and insurance companies to address challenges within the finance domain, ranging from accounting to regulatory reporting challenges to increased use of data analytics in support of business planning and forecasting to Finance system implementation.

The opportunity

In order to strengthen our growing CFO Consulting team, we are looking for senior managers / directors with a solid IFRS 17 implementation experience and expertise.

IFRS 17 Insurance Contracts represents a complete overhaul of the current accounting practices for insurance contracts and thereby introduces the biggest accounting change in decades for insurers. As CFO Consulting, we bring deep technical and industry knowledge, and we work together with our clients to achieve IFRS 17 compliance efficiently, and in line with their finance and risk transformation programs.

As senior manager / director, you will work directly with clients in the insurance sector. Within your role, you will:

• 
  Take the lead in IFRS 17 implementation projects covering a variety of topics
• Lead the project team and coach more junior (project) team members
• Build trusted relationships with the client project team members and stakeholders

Your responsibilities

• 
  Lead / Contribute to the delivery of IFRS 17 implementation projects, and investigation and resolution of technical accounting issues
• Assist our clients in transforming their financial statements and investor communications to the IFRS 17 context
• Redefine the accounting and reporting processes to ensure reporting timelines and ambitions can be met after the IFRs 17 implementation date
• Provide technical advice to ad-hoc queries from clients and internal staff as needed

To qualify for the role you must have

• 
  Practical experience on IFRS 17 implementation is a must
• Above 8 years of experience
• Knowledge of the Belgian insurance legislative framework
• Ability to translate complex topics into clear, comprehensible communication to a broad audience
• Proficient level of business English and fluent in Dutch/French
