The department International Projects, part of the division Turnkey & International Projects, located in Grimbergen (Brussels) is looking for a Senior Project Manager P&M to realize our ever challenging objectives.
Your mission is to plan, organize, coordinate, lead and control all activities related to the project within contractual terms, delivery time, budgets, safety & quality standards and constraints associated, in order to achieve the business objectives.
International Projects is the reliable partner for the construction and commissioning of large and complex multi-technical installations. We serve top rated companies in Western Europe, active in petrochemical, pharma, power generation, tank storage,… with modular construction as well as stick build installation.

Your role and responsibilities

  • achieve the commercial and business development targets together with the Sales team
  • carry the final accountability for the field engineering, project execution, financial results, risk management, technical quality, acceptance of the works, choice of materials, planning, procurement and resourcing
  • manage the client relationship and the relationship with consortium partners and strategic subcontractors during the complete project life cycle
  • strategically select partners (suppliers, vendors,…) and stakeholders to whom activities will be outsourced
  • collaborate with the Tendering team during the bidding process and carry co-accountability for the bidding
  • ensure good contract execution and control of it (invoicing, budgets, progress,…)
  • lead, coordinate and ensure cohesion between the teams in all domains involved in the project including indirect or outsourced teams (engineering, construction, contracting,…)
  • average team has 10 to 30 staff members
  • project size starting from 100.000 manhours and typical TO of 10 – 50 Mio € per project
  • provide support to the Department and Division Manager
  • be the leading example, inspire for and implement continuous improvements at department level
  • give input for career development

Do you possess the following qualifications & skills?

  • master in engineering
  • senior profile with at least 10 years of experience in contracting
  • solid experience in project & construction management in large and/or complex projects in national or international context, contracted as EPC and/or EPCm
  • general technical knowledge in piping & mechanical and electricity & instrumentation
  • familiar with complex contractual set-ups (a.o. FIDIC)
  • able to manage good relationships with the client and our partners while monitoring EQUANS’ interests
  • proven leadership capabilities
  • decisive and persistent, high initiative taking, proven adaptability to find solutions, excellent commercial acumen
  • willing to work abroad (Western Europe) during the construction phase of the project with a fixed rotation schedule
  • excellent communication skills: English, Dutch, French. Knowledge of German, Spanish or Italian is definitely an added value
