The Customer Software, Clinical and Research Platforms department is currently looking for a seasoned Senior Software Engineer / data Scientist – Surgical based in our location in Mechelen.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • In close collaboration with our research team and in interaction with surgeons contribute to the successful catch up of new initiatives in surgical data / image processing of the inner ear
  • Ensure the processes are optimized throughout the project, e.g. analysis plan, monitoring multisource data collection (incl. legacy systems), overseeing and/or conducting data analysis with other experts
  • Responsible to monitor and analyse the performance of our models, formulate recommendations for adjustments in terms of improvement on performance, robustness, on features, processes, etc.
  • Help build algorithms in our platforms for AI-based anomaly detection and diagnostic modelling. Tune algorithms and data pipelines for optimal performance
  • Apply and implement AI/ML algorithms for processing various type of data (time series, tabular, images)
  • Collaborate with SW Engineers, SW Architects, and other data/ SW functions within Cochlear in order to handle complex business and technical challenges and optimize processes like Model productization for stable and scalable deployment of models in a cloud-based platform
  • Responsible for designing, developing and unit testing application code in Python, C#, .NET / WPF environment, that provides communication with the CI System through software drivers written in C++
This Is You
  • You have a master’s degree / PhD in engineering
  • You’re a seasoned SW Engineer / Data Scientist professional, with a proven track record of cloud deployment of healthcare applications
  • You are a passionate developer with >3 years working with Python, C#, C++
  • You have experience in developing cloud based and mobile applications (Windows / IOS)
  • Knowledge of managed C++, SWIFT and.NET/WPF are a plus
  • You are strong in conceptual thinking, scenario building, and value thinking
  • You love to work with individuals in cross functional teams and resilient to challenging feedback. Experience in working in an agile environment
  • You dislike status quo. You are ambitious and eager to learn. You use data & insights to continually improve our value propositions and are not afraid to try things out
  • You combine strong analytical skills with a creative and positive mind
  • Good verbal and written English language skills
