Great career opportunity for a Software Engineer to join a leading international technology provider that’s developing innovative computer vision / AI solutions for the packaging/print industry.

This new role will suit someone with either a PhD (in related Visual AI etc) and some commercial exposure, and/or a Software Engineer with practical computer vision experience.

The Opportunity


Esko is a leading provider of packaging software to clients around the world, enabling them to produce the best packaging for billions of consumers.

The Software Engineer will be part of a small, newly formed software engineering team in Belgium (8 days a month at our Ghent office) that will be researching and developing computer vision solutions that will automate the human processes that are critical to ensure quality and accuracy of product branding on shelves around the world.

You’ll analyse problem statements provided by application experts, identify suitable vision/AI technologies, set up experiments/prototypes to prove feasibility, progress these experiments into production components (e.g, cloud services), design, implement, test, maintain and improve these components.

We’re looking for…

  • Masters’ Degree in software engineering (or comparable)

  • Experience (PhD, professional or hobby) with implementing Visual AI solutions

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the latest computer vision and visual AI technologies

  • No specific prior computer language requirements but you must be able to learn a new programming language if a technology would require that

  • Customer-focused, great communication (fluent English) and problem-solving skills
