In conjunction with radiotherapy treatment machines, Varian provides major treatment planning software and databases to define and manage all patient treatments. Those mainly use the following techniques:
- Network TCP/IP, firewalls, AD....
- Databases
- Virtual machines and servers under Microsoft environments
- Citrix
- Calculation servers and GPU computing
As part of our Software technical support, you will help all Varian customers in Belgium, to keep their Varian software available and their patients data safe.
To do so, you will:
- Provide on-line support. (Focused on IT aspects, the use of the software is supported by a dedicated support).
- Perform on-line and on-site upgrades of an entire site or just some components.
Occasionally Saturday and evening works should be considered, as the situation requires to do so.
Role Responsibilities:
- Act as primary contact for Varian customers servicing and repairs needs ensuring that our customers’ equipment operates efficiently at all times.
- Troubleshooting, repairs, installs, upgrades and performing preventative maintenance on all Varian equipment according to instructions and company guidelines.
- Operates in a designated field service territory and represents VMS which requires a high level of professional communication with their team, customers, management, sales and other technical support.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair all Varian equipment within an assigned service territory, including preventative maintenance, installations and upgrades per Varian guidelines.
- Time Management: maintain a schedule to include preventative maintenance installations and upgrades as well as incoming customer calls.
- Ability to assess urgency of customer request and follow-through to completion.
- Understand and recognize the need to escalate incidents when necessary or request additional assistance from more tenured representatives.
- Examine customer issues, diagnose and resolve the issues and meet established customer service levels.
- Maintain effective territory management and expense control which includes timely completion and submission of field service reports and other required documentation according to Varian procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through the use of strong written and verbal communication skills.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Sound knowledge of and professional experience with Network analysis test equipment.
- Frequent use and application of technical documentation, standards, principles, concepts, and techniques in the field.
- Advanced knowledge of Desktop computer hardware and operating systems.
- Basic knowledge of server hardware and operating systems.
- Understanding of the separate responsibilities of Varian Service reps and the Customer Physicists with regard to Treatment Planning Systems.
- Understanding and familiarity with Customer facing documentation.
- Performs routine maintenance such including major STBs.
- Capable of performing Maintenance Release upgrades with assistance or supervision.
