Within our SAFE methodology we are looking for a System Architect. As a System Architect you are jointly responsible for drawing up ’fit for purpose’ solutions for the Non Life Insurance domain. For this you work closely with many different roles such as policy functions, enterprise architects, product owners, scrum masters, safe employees, In short, you form an important connecting function between these roles. You feel like one of the engines of our organization.

You take the initiative to initiate the necessary evolutions to guarantee the future in terms of technology. We then think of new developments around Kate, APIs, Third Party services and so on. So you are definitely part of the engine in ’Differently the Next Level’.

Role description

• Responsible for definition & communication of “fit for purpose” technical and architectural vision for the Agile Release Train, based on functional and non-functional requirements, and also in support for new business capabilities

• Responsible for describing a solution architecture with the most important components and their interfaces

• Takes care of aligning the teams around the technical orientation and connects with the teams in order to evaluate the different technical alternatives and work out the solution

• Participates actively in following ART events: PI planning, demo’s, sync meetings, Inspect & Adapt

• Participates actively in continuous exploration and innovation

• Responsible for describing an end-to-end solution architecture with the most important components and interfaces within his/her domain, supports the end-to-end challenge/validation in:

• Release management process (e.g. Change Advisory Board): determined impact

• Severe incident management process (e.g. SIM Team): determined impact, determined (root) cause, proposed solving solution, and determined solving solution impact

Responsibilities

This role is an important bridge between business and ICT.

During the work-preparation, you’ll work closely with our System Architects, resulting in high level feasibilities of application solutions.

During implementation, you will play a key role in the translations to detailed functional design together with the functional analyst.

You’ll come in contact with a wide range of technology frameworks from Front-end to backend.

As a ‘supporting service’ to our different segments, you will come in contact with our business colleagues in charge of new product development.

You’ll be able to master your job in a short time and this with a “on-the-job” training.

It is important that you are able to translate the customer needs into a concrete and efficient action plan.

This in an autonomous way, however always collaborating with the different parties.

You should be able to communicate your plans and ideas in a fluent, structured and convincing way, as well as to the client, as to the team and management.

During the work-preparation or feasibilities you take into account all solution alternatives.

And you do research about the feasibility of scope, budget, time-to-market and ability to execute these alternatives.

You make sure the chosen IT-solutions are supported/tuned within the IT organization, with technical experts, system architects, within the community of senior analyst …

You deliver a concrete product backlog for the development and interfacing teams.

• Who is strong in written and verbal communication, who can listen and understand

• Who can easily translate conceptual and strategical concepts into concrete solutions and advices. And you can bring them convincingly into a language understood by the customer.

• Who is a real team player: Who gets energy by working in a multidisciplinary team towards a common goal.

• Who won’t get discouraged by changing priorities or constraints and will search for solutions

• With a focus on quality, performance, security and stability

• Who is willing to continuously learn and are open to innovation: you are interested in digital trends.

• Who doesn’t have any problem to express him/herself in English and Dutch.

• With at least 2 years of experience as a business analyst or similar (in a financial domain is a plus ) .

• Experience with SAFE is a plus.

• Experience with the Project Life Cycle is a plus.
