Who You’ll Work With

You will be based in our Munich or Brussels office as part of our dynamic Battery Insights team.
Our entrepreneurial team of researchers and consultants supports companies around the world along the entire value chain - from raw material producers, battery cell and component manufacturers, to automotive and industrial companies, and recycling players.
Battery Insights is a collaboration of McKinsey’s Sustainability, Basic Material and Advanced Industries practices. As a team, we tackle industry-shaping questions around battery technology and market trends: How will battery and component cost develop in the future? How will supply and demand dynamics influence the speed of electrification? What is the impact of battery technology on sustainability and carbon emissions?
To answer these questions, you will help build an integrated McKinsey asset that leverages advanced analytics modelling and cutting-edge industry expertise.

What You’ll Do

You will help grow the firm’s capacity to deliver client impact through preeminent, scalable assets and distinctive knowledge/capabilities in the battery space.
In this role, you will split your time developing, tech-enabling and managing proprietary Battery Insights assets and supporting clients and engagement teams with your asset-backed expertise – applying your work in client setting. You will become a highly sought-after expert in battery discussions and can live your passion for entrepreneurship, leadership and sustainability. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy and get responsibility to work closely with leading thinkers on batteries including internal McKinsey colleagues as well as external clients.
Your role is highly entrepreneurial with significant space for initiative taking and personal growth. You’ll have the opportunity to gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm. You will receive exceptional training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring.
There is flexibility to hire at different levels, depending on candidate experience.
