We are seeking a Senior Statistical Programmer to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver analysis datasets, tables, listings, and visualizations from clinical sources using SAS and/or R. You will also contribute to the development and maintenance of programming standards, operating procedures, and global processes, while representing the organization in external industry forums (e.g., CDISC, SDTM, and user groups). This position requires independence and the ability to handle moderately complex deliverables with minimal guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop efficient, accurate programs using SAS and/or R in line with programming standards.
  • Maintain and enhance programming infrastructure, including the SAS platform and global SAS macro library.
  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of R scripts for data analysis, statistical modeling, and visualization.
  • Stay current with emerging R packages, techniques, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Data Management leadership to refine reporting processes and standards.
  • Deliver programming outputs for clinical trials and custom Data Management reports.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of harmonized global programming procedures.
  • Ensure timely, high-quality deliverables across diverse clinical platforms and therapeutic areas.
  • Partner with Clinical Data Science, Clinical Operations, and Franchise leadership to plan and execute reporting and study deliverables.
  • Facilitate the delivery of standardized metric reports.
  • Functional & Technical CompetenciesStrong proficiency in Base SAS, SAS/STAT, and SAS Macro language (Advanced SAS certification preferred).
  • Experience with R programming (syntax, functions, packages) highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform independent QC programming and peer review of code/deliverables.
  • Familiarity with CDISC datasets, tables, listings, and figures.
  • Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in team environments to meet critical milestones.
  • Leadership CompetenciesBuild strategic partnerships with Clinical and Biostatistics functions to align programming practices with organizational needs.
  • Adapt ADaM and SDTM standards for medical devices; contribute to industry initiatives to refine standards.
  • Identify and present opportunities to enhance programming quality and efficiency.
  • Ensure programming deliverables are completed on time, compliant with regulations and SOPs, and consistent across franchises.
  • Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline (required).
  • ​​Minimum of 4 years of programming/system support experience in clinical research within Medical Devices or Pharmaceuticals
