Summary

Analytical Chemistry Manager for Renal Solutions in BAP, covering:
  • Laboratory management for feasibility (exploratory, early-stage solutions development) and verification (V&V, Class B and/or stability) studies
  • Act as a manager for analytical leads and lab staff based at BAP
  • Act as a manager for the material science experts based at BAP
The manager of the group will be accountable for project execution, quality & accuracy of all the analyses done in the team and appropriate resource allocation keeping in mind business priorities. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategic technology direction for the team and grow talent by actively engaging with team members for their continuous professional growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- General Management:
  • Provide leadership to direct reports
  • Conduct regular check-ins and development plan discussions, participate in employee performance discussions
  • Participate in forecasting and/or resources planning activities
  • Complete hiring activities as per demand, including onboarding and exiting activities
  • Apply required people management and communication skills
  • Review and apply best-demonstrated practices, team processes, and improve operational efficiency.
- Analytical Chemistry Management
  • Work closely with global Analytical Chemistry &Stability team members within Renal Solutions R&D to define scope of work on projects
  • Provide leadership to team members, guiding them in terms of prioritization, problem resolution, process clarification, referrals to appropriate experts, etc.
  • Where applicable, collaborate with other laboratories in the Baxter network to address project demands
    • Work collaboratively and effectively with other global analytical chemistry, stability, materials science, extractables and leachables, spectroscopy, and microscopy/particle analysis leads.
    • Work collaboratively and effectively with project management office, sustaining product and new product development leads, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and other business partners as and when needed.
  • Contribute to the definition & execution of global strategy for talent development, capability & capacity for AC&S organization.
  • Upon project requests, provide analytical leads per demand in line with business prioritization
- Material Science Management
  • Upon project requests, provide Material Science experts per demand
- Laboratory Management
  • Ensure laboratory management for Renal Solutions at BAP
  • Ensure laboratory team compliance to the quality system requirements, training requirements (BaxU), etc.
  • In collaboration with QA and applicable Operations services, guarantee GMP and GDP standards, environmental, health and safety (EHS) guidelines
  • Collaborate with BAP Operation group and other GBU laboratories to ensure cohesive approach for local laboratory activities. Foster and support the cross GBU LabCohesion network.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of renal therapies and products
  • Good knowledge of chemistry and analytical techniques
  • Experience in formulation and/or process development.
  • Knowledge of the Product Development process (PDLM) and project management
  • A proven ability to work independently and be able to work in a team.
  • Good communication skills and be able to use critical thinking.
  • Very good level in French and a good knowledge of written and spoken English.
Education and/or Experience
  • Master (or PhD degree) in a relevant Sciences domain
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in (pharmaceutical) industry.
