Job Description
The environmental impact of Si-chip manufacturing can be quantified through a Life-Cycle-Analysis (LCA) of a high-volume semiconductor fab. LCA requires the inventory of all fab input and output flows at equipment level. This data-intensive task is currently based on a first-generation Python code that needs to evolve to a next maturity level to support our high ambitions in sustainability. The code needs to deploy the following functionalities in a cleaned-up, future-proof architecture:
- Embed data sources in properly maintained databases.
- Develop new methodologies for data treatment.
- Develop a graphical user interface oriented towards web-deployment of the software.
To this end, we are looking for an application developer to take lead in the code development of the next generation of the software, in a close collaboration with the LCA research team that will help define the scope and architecture, provide clean data sources, and evaluate the test results.
Candidate Description
You are a self-motivated, result-driven code developer who:
- Can demonstrate prior experience with application developments. Knowledge of Python is a must, but familiarity with other languages and application development tools is desirable.
- Can translate a complex data management process into an efficient, well documented, readable code that can later be managed by the engineering team.
- Has good communication skills and an eye for professional-looking graphical interfaces. An excellent command of English is mandatory given the international character of our customer.
- Is able to work according to agreed customer timelines and manage time efficiently according to aggressive project schedules.
- Shows initiative and autonomy, while being part of a team.
