Audit Supervisor, Risk & Finance ING Belgium

As an Audit Supervisor Risk & Finance (R&F), you will, together with your colleagues, audit processes within the Risk and Finance domains to assess that controls have been designed adequately and implemented effectively.

Your key responsibilities


  • Planning and performing audits in various Risk and Finance domains in ING Belgium. Possibly participating in audits in other ING locations (e.g. Amsterdam and Luxemburg);
  • Leading the planning, execution and reporting process of an audit and supervising the work performed by the team members.
  • Analysing the businesses / end-to-end processes, inherent risks, underlying regulatory requirements and ING-expected control frameworks;
  • Evaluating whether key risks are adequately mitigated by assessing effectiveness of key controls.
  • Interacting with stakeholders and managing expectations. Ensuring that issues identified as a result of fieldwork have been discussed and agreed with stakeholders.
  • Utilising adequate tools and techniques (for example, data Analytics) to improve audit coverage and execution resulting in high quality control testing results.
  • Summarising findings and drafting value added recommendations. Documenting the fieldwork test results and the supporting evidences in Team Mate+ audit tool within the timelines agreed at the beginning of the audit.
  • Writing audit reports in line with CAS report writing standards.
  • Performing assessment of submitted issues for closures.
  • Staying well informed on the business and risk developments, internally and externally, including trends and techniques in the internal auditing profession.

As an Audit Supervisor, you will also need:

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant banking / internal or external auditing experience, in a position that provided you with a sound understanding of the banking environment, including capacity of identifying and evaluation key inherent risk and mitigating controls; Master degree or equivalent;
  • An independent mindset and professional scepticism. Ability to challenge the existing patterns, to speak up and sustain your point of view based on facts and and in a professional, assertive manner;
  • Solution-oriented, ability to advice on workable actions to mitigate risks in a sustainable manner;
  • Strong organisational and follow-up skills, including handling competing priorities;
  • Ability to make complex analyses and summarise key messages in verbal and written communication;
  • Proficiency in speaking & writing in English language.
  • To be a strong team player who understands emotional intelligence drivers

Being CIA certified or willing to become CIA certified is considered to be a plus.
