仕事内容

At Univercells, we are on a mission to make health equally accessible to all. Through the combination of process development and engineering expertise, we create synergies to deliver game-changing production capacities to achieve our mission: biologics for all!

At Quantoom Biosciences, Univercells’ latest affiliate, we are on a mission to remove the barriers to making mRNA-based vaccines and therapeutics, at every stage from sequence up to mass production. We give our partners greater access to drug development and production autonomy through technical and business model innovation.

You will join an interdisciplinary team of passionate scientists, engineers, clinicians and corporate profiles committed to solving some of the biggest DNA and RNA production challenges facing vaccines and therapeutics.

Quantoom Biosciences has two facilities; the headquarters are based in Nivelles (Belgium), and the France Research Center focusing on offering an end-to-end DNA production platform based in Evry (France).

Every person will have the opportunity to contribute to our mission and be impactful. Apply and be part of this great adventure!

MISSION

You will be responsible for performing analytical testing to support the development and implementation of analytical test methods, mainly based on cell culture, electrophoresis, immunoassays, spectrofluorimetry and flow cytometry. Analytes consist of nucleic acid-based products as well as of proteins that need to be monitored and characterized.

You will help to develop and qualify these analytical methods and analyze samples from our upstream and downstream process development teams. This includes preparing the relevant equipment and reagents, executing the method, and recording the data. You will maintain laboratory equipment and inventory for laboratory supplies. You will also contribute to the writing of analytical protocols and reports.

You will work in collaboration with the analytical scientists to achieve project objectives and milestones.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Management of lab and equipment used for operational work.
  • Execution of basic maintenance of lab equipment
  • Calibration of equipment
  • Monitoring and management of stocks of consumables and reagents specific to the assays
  • Maintenance of a clean and safe working area by following established housekeeping routines.
  • Training colleagues on equipment use and best practices
  • Execution of analytical assays for the needs of process development (USP &DSP) teams:

o Preparation of solutions & equipment

o Perform the analytical testing according to SOP and experimental plan

o Record data and results in specific forms

  • Writing and management of documentation related to experiments.
  • Data and result collection and record in defined forms with accuracy.
  • Results analysis and report writing.
  • Adherence to standard operating procedures in all the operational tasks executed with a special emphasis on the compliance with Good Laboratories Practices and biosafety procedures for BSL-2 lab when applicable
  • Correct use and implementation of quality management system within the field of activities (procedures/checklist/working instructions, etc.).
  • Identification and reporting of deviations from standard operating procedures and of unexpected events through initiation of related investigations.
  • Support of corrective and preventive actions related to deviations and unexpected events.
  • Contribution to general lab activities (housekeeping and maintenance).
  • Generation of process quality documentation for vaccines platform (procedures, work instructions, templates, etc.).

PROFILE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry or equivalent.
  • Experience with the isolation, propagation, and banking of commercial cell lines as well as primary cell lines, possibly in an antibiotic-free environment.
  • Expertise with transfection, cell reporter and immune functional assays.
  • Nuclease-free and aseptic practices, cautious handling of nucleic acids.
  • Meticulousness and systematicity in the execution of ELISAs and the likes.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in similar area
  • Autonomy, flexibility, and proactivity in forecasting needs for reagents and cells, in managing samples to be analyzed, and in planning experiments.
  • Enthusiasm and agility to work on a variety of projects.
  • Strong sense of observation, inventive & critical mindset, scientific curiosity and problem-solving skills.
  • Integrity and transparency.
  • Ability to communicate in English, read, written, and spoken is compulsory.
  • Capability to work in a cross-functional and multi-cultural team.
  • Being accustomed to cell characterization by flow cytometry, to antibody-mediated cell enrichment/purification, and to immunity concepts is a plus.
  • Experience with analytical method development and pre-qualification in several of the described areas (immunoassays, electrophoresis, spectrofluorimetry, or FACS) is a plus.
