Labcorp Drug Development is currently seeking to appoint a Business Development Director (BDD) to the Early Development commercial team in Europe with responsibilities for a segment of our European client base, principally located in Benelux and Israel. This represents an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join a well-established and highly successful team in supporting the development needs of our Biotech client base.

This position is field based and we offer flexibility in location whether that be in the UK or mainland Europe providing good access to major travel networks are available. Some travel to the US and other global company locations will be required on an occasional basis.

Education/Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in life science or business field preferred
• Advanced industry knowledge
• Demonstrated client retention skills
• Ability to manage difficult client and/or financial situations
• Ability to differentiate Labcorp Drug Development from competitors
• Strong working relationship with internal Covance management and site leadership
• Demonstrated ability to acquire and grow client base
• Able to work autonomously and effectively, managing your own priorities in conjunction with those of your colleagues and your clients
• Proven ability to identify, develop and implement creative and innovative strategies that lead to effective long term client relationships
• Strong financial acumen: delivering business results in a commercial environment; budgeting; financial planning and reporting
• Direct face to face negotiation experience with major clients
• Willingness and ability to travel, around 50% (COVID restrictions allowing) of the role will include visiting clients with some travel principally to the US for meetings and conferences
• Language skills: fluent in English
  

Experience

Sales (or relevant) experience selling services directly to the pharmaceutical and biotech section with direct interaction with mid-level and executive level decision makers
