The Picanol Group is an international, customer-oriented group specialised in the development, production and sale of high-tech weaving machines (Weaving Machines division), engineered casting solutions and custom-made controllers (Industries division). The Picanol Group employs over 2,100 people worldwide and is listed on Euronext Brussels (PIC) through Picanol SA. Picanol supplies weaving machines to weaving mills worldwide in over 100 countries, and also offers its customers products and services such as weaving frames and reeds, training, upgrade kits and spare parts.

For the R&D team, we are looking for aCompliance Engineer.

Your function:

As Compliance Engineer you will be responsible within R&D and working on compliance of the machines and the productionprocess:

• Compliance of our designed machines with the legal requirements, especially regarding safety, in the different countries we export to. To this end, you will keep yourself updated of international standards on textile machinery, European directives and local legislation.
• Managing our ISO procedures and standards within R&D.
• Facilitating the product development process and project work within R&D. In doing so, you will take a lead role within the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) application and the planning and reporting system.
• Communicating with IT in the development of new systems within R&D.
• Monitoring legislation and best practices with regard to sustainability and CSR

Your profile:

• You preferably obtained a master’s degree in industrial sciences (or equivalent through experience)
• You have good technical knowledge of mechanical engineering and like to keep this knowledge up to date
• You apply great importance to safety and take your colleagues along with you in this
• You are eager to learn and have a critical analytical mind
• You like to take responsibility, have a structured approach and work accurately
• You are a team player and good communicator in projects, but you can also do your part independently.
• You have good knowledge of English (preferly good knowledge of dutch or you are willing to learn dutch)
• You easily find your way in various computer systems and applications
