Function

Accountable for the global technical coordination of off-the-shelf purchased components, the management of the component teams and the technical relationship with component manufacturers

Key Responsibilities
  • Gathers the R&D needs as input for the component management strategy
  • Maintains & defines technical characteristics summary by component or component groups
  • Follows up and processes discontinuation & change notifications by proposing alternatives when available to avoid major supply problems due to unexpected product discontinuations
  • Executes the component management strategy by component group for Barco R&D worldwide
  • Leads the component teams , supports the cost & value engineers and Procurement team towards cost effective products
  • Introduction of new technologies, trends, and new components to our R&D community worldwide

Qualifications
  • 3 years of engineering experience in a design environment or equivalent, experiences or eagerness in design Engineering is a plus , but we are also open for young graduates !
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering science, or equal by experience
  • You are a service-oriented team player
  • You can work independently
  • You are fluent in English
  • You are meticulous, analysis minded, result driven, customer oriented, innovative, enthusiastic and proactive
  • You can build and maintain relations and you are skilled in communication
