Description
OBJECTIVE:
Setting up, evaluating, negotiating, and tactical/operational managing of all contracts with contractors and suppliers.
Advising the Project Manager and the client, with the aim of an optimal progress of the project regarding time, costs, safety, additional work or less work than calculated, and claim handling is the purpose of a Contracts Manager as well.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Optimum service - contractor selection:
- Gathering information from contractors and suppliers on the basis of the quotations.
- Conducting quality audits and risk analysis, based on total cost of ownership, knowledge, and expertise, in consultation with the project team of the company and the customer, and making an informed choice for an optimal servicecontractor choice based on the gathered information.
- Procurement method / Contract form / Conditions:
- Ensuring that all elements of the contract between the customer and the company are translated one-on-one to the terms of the contract for contractors and on this basis choosing the correct contracting strategy towards contractors.
- Optimisation contracts:
- Managing the principles, before, during, and after the activities of the contractors and suppliers, as specified in the terms of the contract.
- In this context, the following elements are important: safety (QOHSE guidelines), legal aspects, contract variations, planning, and claim processing.
- Customer relationship management:
- Developing and maintaining relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors, and the nationwide company organisation within the framework of the strategic plan of the division, to build a network which can (possibly) result into new assignments and guarantees adequate progress of projects.
- Project coordination:
- Linking the various contracts of contractors and ensuring that the contracts themselves are linked, in order to monitor progress and objectives of the project and making these transparent.
- Monitoring of the procurement process for all services and products that are covered during the implementation of the project.
- Organising intermediate storage, transports, and insurances of the stored goods.
- As well as the financial settlement and the organisation of invoice flows, including reviewing and releasing invoices for payment.
- Advising:
- Giving effect to an advisory process and guiding or supporting customers in implementation and/or decisionmaking processes on the basis of procurement policy, procurement strategies and market knowledge of tender and contracting strategies.
- Knowledge:
- Gathering and maintaining market and technical knowledge related to tender and contracting strategies by identifying and analysing data, concluding, and advising, to realise the desired financial results to the satisfaction of both the customer and the company.
